Celebrating all that we share!
Nations of York Collective (NYC) wants to provide a much needed platform for a dialog among different cultural groups present in our neighbourhood.
Highlighting what brings us together is specially urgent in the context of Brexit and the refugee crisis. NYC wants to debunk the misleading perception that there is "us" and "them". We have a shared history, the history of all the people living on the planet. As such, it is our responsibility to step up for the most vulnerable around the world.
Our
Mission
NYC organises supper clubs and masterclasses celebrating the history of migration that each traditional cuisine embodies.
By offering the opportunity to learn from a diversity of culinary traditions, we hope to improve tolerance and cultural competence in York.

Our events seek to change perceptions of foreigners in the area, promote their integration, share new skills among local residents, and raise funds for vulnerable people around the world.
